Your Questions, Answered.

How does it work?

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) lets you access phone service over your Aldera internet service. Calls are no longer dependent on old traditional phone lines. Get all the same great features of a traditional phone service at a fraction of the cost.

How is the call quality?

You will hear a vast improvement in call quality compared to traditional landlines. Landlines don’t have as much audio bandwidth, which can result in muffled or fuzzy calls. VoIP calls achieve this through high definition voice technology.

If I lose power, can I still make phone calls with VoIP?

In most cases, you will not be able to connect calls if there’s a power or network outage. Our VoIP phone system works over the internet. During an outage, your router will not be able to function, which means there will be no internet access.

To avoid this problem you can use a backup power source to keep your internet and phone working during a power outage. Give us a call and we can help get you setup so you never miss a call.

Does my computer need to be online for me to make a call?

No! You can continue to use your regular home telephone to make calls just like you would normally. Our VoIP equipment is connected 24/7 and does not need a computer.
